The wait is over – and it’s been worth every moment. After years of planning and a £3.5 million investment, The Cut & Craft is preparing to open its doors in the heart of Manchester, bringing a fresh wave of elegance, culinary artistry, and timeless design to the city’s vibrant hospitality scene.
Nestled in the iconic former Manchester & Salford Bank on Mosley Street—now known as Bond by Bruntwood SciTech—this stunning Grade II listed building is undergoing a meticulous transformation. With its origins dating back to 1862, it stands as one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in the city, and soon, it will become home to one of the most anticipated steak and seafood restaurants in the region.
The restoration is not just a revival—it’s a reinvention. Designed with a deep respect for the building’s heritage, every detail of the interior breathes sophistication, from the rich palette of deep blues and golds to the grand banking hall’s restored features. The space is filled with light pouring through huge arched windows, showcasing intricate architectural details and high ceilings that echo with history.
The Cut & Craft’s ground floor will offer an open, yet intimate, dining experience that blends laid-back glamour with refined elegance. Meanwhile, the building’s original bank vaults—once off-limits and long forgotten – have been reimagined into exclusive private dining and entertainment spaces. Highlights include a sommelier lounge, a stylish ‘gossip room’, and a state-of-the-art ladies’ room – all tailored for a luxurious and immersive guest experience.

No exceptional hospitality space is complete without seating that’s been thoughtfully designed and beautifully made. More than just functional, the seating has become part of the story—a fusion of heritage and hospitality.
From plush radius seating with housing for champagne buckets, to free standing sofas and back-to-back configurations, every detail has been carefully considered. Bespoke banquettes echo the curvature of the building’s original architecture, creating a unique and timeless dining experience.
For PGI Contracts, it’s a privilege to be part of a local project that so elegantly bridges the past and present. In spaces like this, where craftsmanship and character go hand in hand, even the smallest details – like the texture of a fabric or the contour of a back rest play a part in shaping the guest experience.
This is more than a restaurant. This is a revival of place, purpose, and prestige. And we’re proud to have had a seat at the table.
